BCPNP Tech – The Best Immigration Pathway for Tech Workers in British Columbia

The BCPNP Tech is one of the best immigration pathways for skilled candidates working in the information and technology sector to start a new life and career in Canada. The program accepts applicants under the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BCPNP) and provides a fast track for tech workers to PR in Canada, helping to meet current labour shortages in the province’s technology sector.

What is BCPNP Tech?

The BCPNP Tech is not a separate program. It is rather a set of administrative rules simplifying the application of Tech professionals in the Skill Immigration Registration System (SIRS). The BCPNP Tech is available both through the Skilled Immigrants (SI) category and Express Entry British Columbia (EEBC).

It also offers British Columbia tech employers a sustained approach to recruiting and maintaining foreign talent in tech positions when local workers are not accessible. This initiative allows international students and highly demanded foreign workers to obtain permanent residence in the province, enabling them to contribute to British Columbia’s economy.

The BCPNP Tech program offers numerous benefits for tech workers interested in immigrating to Canada. It is an excellent immigration pathway for tech workers seeking permanent residence in British Columbia, as it does not require a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA). Additionally, the BCPNP offers work permit support letters to nominees so they can continue working throughout the application process.

What is the process of being nominated?

Foreign nationals working in one of the in-demand occupations may register a Skill Immigration Registration System profile to express their interest. After registering a profile, applicants should wait for the invitation to apply for a nomination either under SI or EEBC categories. On average, British Columbia holds invitation rounds for BCPNP Tech candidates on a weekly or bi-weekly frequency. Once you are invited, you can submit your application for a British Columbia nomination. Following the nomination, applicants will be able to submit their application for PR with the Federal government. SI nominees may apply via the non-Express Entry portal, while EEBC nominees will get 600 points to their Express Entry profiles and may expect the ITA in the next Express Entry Draw.
